Take a walk along these fortified walls which were once built in order to protect Lucca. Its foundations date back to the 2nd century BC, what you can see now is the last reinforcement from the 16th century. Along the 4km-long walls, you can explore three gates that served as the entrance into the city and several bastions of different structures.
