Sóller Railway

Local nameEusebi Estada, 1 (Estació tren de Sóller)
LocationPalma, Spain

The railway has been connecting people from the town of Sóller with the city of Palma since 1912.

The first trains were steam powered but in 1928 the line was electrified. The carriages that are running now are totally original and are made of wood. Inside you will see sumptuous leather clad seating and brass fittings throughout.

The journey takes around 1 hour, taking you northbound across the magnificent plains, then climbing sharply up into the mountain range where the views change dramatically. In the process of getting to Sóller from Palma, the journey takes you through thirteen tunnels as the train winds its way through the mountain range.
