Head here if you want to see the largest building in Hungary, one of the two tallest buildings in Budapest and a serving location for the assembly of the Hungarian Parliament. Overlooking the river Danube, it is an imposing sight, popular among the tourists as a great photo shoot location.
Built at the turn of the 19th century, the building, designed in Gothic revival style, is just as interesting on the inside as on the outside. It is divided into several large rooms available for public visits. Do not miss the Upper House Lobby, where you can take a stroll across the largest hand-knotted carpet in Europe, and the Dome Hall, where you can admire the Holy Crown of Hungary.
When visiting, keep in mind that although it is okay to take photographs in the rest of the palace, it is strictly forbidden to take pictures in the Dome Hall. Also, be prepared to undergo a security check before entering the palace.
