Don't get fooled by the simple facade of this church, its interior is simply stunning. Designed by Brunelleschi, it is an astounding example of Renaissance architecture and style. It hides real gems inside, including Michelangelo's Crucifix, but also many more frescoes, statues, and paintings.
Tourist visits:
Mon-Sat (except Wednesday) from 10 am until 1 pm. And in the afternoon from 3 pm until 6 pm.
Sun and religious holidays from 11:30 am until 1:30 pm. And in the afternoon from 3 pm until 6 pm.
The ticket office closes 15 minutes earlier.
Admission to the basilica is free.
