Ribeira District

This is where you should head if you crave some great food, wine and socializing. Take a stroll around the bank of the Douro River and enjoy the view of Vila Nova de Gaia on the opposite side. Also, it's a great place from where you can marvel at the iconic Luís bridge. There are also plenty of picturesque houses with colorful facades and balconies with wrought iron railing.

If you are feeling hungry after a long day of sightseeing, this district is also the place to go when you want to dine in a good restaurant or drink some fine Portuguese wines. It's especially imposing during the sunset.
