Our Lady of the Conception of the Capuchins

This small church stands out both because of its unusual interior and the unique Capuchin Crypts that lie hidden underneath it.

In contrast to the opulence of many other churches in Rome, this small building greets its visitors with a modestly decorated interior.

One only needs to take the few steps underground to uncover the church's true treasure though. The majestic crypts hold the bones of some 4000 Capuchin friars, who are placed in 6 chapels and arranged in various religious motifs and symbols.
