BMW Museum

This museum is a must-see for any fan of automobiles no matter the brand. Spanning an area of some 5 000 square meters, it features exhibitions detailing the history of the BMW brand, but also a collection of the company's coolest cars and motorbikes. Sit in one of the vehicles and play a VR game that will allow you to feel like you are really driving it, or take a peek at how the car's production lines look.

Note the interesting architectural design of the museum building, too. Opened in 1972, what you can see today is the result of a reconstruction that went on between 2004 and 2008. The mastermind behind the layout is a Viennese professor Karl Schwanzer. Schwanzer was an important post-war architect who also designed the BMW administration tower for the 1972 Summer Olympics.

When visiting, make sure to check the museum's official website ahead of time, to see if there are any special events going on. The museum often hosts free jazz days or cultural days.
